Each of the items on the card is hand cut from stiff paper and glued on. The colors are brighter than the photo. All the cards in this series are very carefully made. I recently watched the women in Manila make them and sat with them trying to "help." They are so good at this. But all the things you see are hand-cut, painstakingly and carefully cut with scissors, then glued on. These women have hope for a new life away from prostitution thanks to the sale of these cards. The money they earn from the sale makes such a big difference in their lives - the difference between slavery to prostitution and freedom and dignity of being able to support themselves (and often children or other family members). I live near Boston and was visiting my son and daughter-in-law who are volunteering with the ministry where these woman are being helped and served.
